I started 3Deco to make lamps that feel personal. Not cold. Not mass-made. Just warm light and thoughtful shapes that belong in real homes.

The Beginning

3Deco didn’t start with a business plan. It started with frustration. I couldn’t find lamps that felt intentional: not overly stylized, not generic, just well-designed objects that actually fit into daily life. Everything seemed either mass-produced or treated like gallery pieces.

So I started making my own.

Now, I run the studio mostly solo. I have one team member, and a few friends help out when things get busy. But I still design, test, and finish every lamp myself, from first sketch to final check.

From Idea to Light

Every lamp starts with an idea. Sometimes that’s a quick sketch, other times I dive straight into 3D.

Some shapes come together quickly. Others take six versions and a few late nights. Honestly, I’m still surprised sometimes when a new one finally works.

I print each piece to order using recycled PETG or PLA sourced from Dutch industrial partners. PETG gives a soft, layered glow and holds its shape better in larger forms. PLA has a more matte texture and diffuses light evenly.

After printing, I inspect the surfaces, check the fit, and assemble everything by hand. If something doesn’t align the way it should, I reprint it. It has to feel right.

The Heart of the Process

The 3D printer is the heart of the studio, but it’s not a matter of just pressing a button and walking away. The printing process is a dialogue between machine and maker. I see it as a modern form of craft. As the lamp slowly takes shape, layer by layer, I monitor the quality and texture. This is the moment the material comes to life and the lamp’s unique, soft glow is born. It’s a slow, almost meditative process that ensures every piece is made with intention.

A Conscious Way of Working

There’s no stockroom. No outsourcing. No inventory waiting on a shelf. Each lamp is made to order. Just what’s needed, nothing more.

I’m not chasing scale or automation. I stay close to the process, the materials, and the people who bring these lamps into their homes.

It’s the only way I know the lamp’s right before it leaves.

From Me to You

When you order from 3Deco, you’re not buying from a system. I designed it, printed it and it’s packed and shipped in house.

I read every message. If something isn’t quite right, I fix it. That’s what staying small allows: a personal commitment, where nothing gets far from my hands.
